TwinsFest is an annual fundraiser benefiting the Twins Community Fund. Since its inception in 1989, TwinsFest has raised more than $3.3 million for programs and organizations supported by the Twins Community Fund. Thur. Jan. 24 Brian Buscher and Kevin Slowey were among the honorees Thursday night at the Third Annual Diamond Awards dinner in downtown Minneapolis. Buscher was the winner of the Sherry Robertson Award as the Twins’ Minor League Player of the Year, with Slowey tabbed as the Jim Rantz Award winner for Twins’ Minor League Pitcher of the Year. All proceeds from the event benefitted the University of Minnesota’s innovative research and patient care focused on Ataxia, Muscular Dystrophy, Parkinson’s disease and ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease). Read more about Thursday's event at TwinsBaseball.com...Slowey and Buscher were spotted in the lobby of the Hoiliday Inn Metrodome along with Michael Cuddyer around 10:15 pm CT, before Slowey hopped into a car driven by Glen Perkins....A guy who looked very much like Scott Baker was seen in the Chipoltle's Mexican Grill Restaurant across the street earlier in the evening. RedWingsBaseball.com staffers highly recommended the pork carnitas tacos, and the steak burrito with that wonderful lime cilantro rice and fiery red hot sauce.
