1928-31 Red Wings
The first four years of the St. Louis Cardinals affiliation were amazing for the Wings, who went 399-268 and won four International League pennants. The 1930 team was led by Rip Collins, who hit .376 with 40 home runs and 180 runs batted in.

2007 |
1950-51 Rochester Royals
Claimed Rochester's only major sports championship when they defeated the New York Knicks 79-75 in Game 7 of the NBA finals at the Edgerton Park Sports Arena. The Royals were co-owned and coached by Les Harrison, and featured future Basketball Hall of Famers Bob Davies, Bobby Wanzer, Red Holzman and Arnie Risen. Defeated the George Mikan-led Minneapolis Lakers to reach the finals. They were named Rochester's sports team of the century by the Rochester Press-Radio Club in 1991.

1971 Rochester Red Wings
They started 0-5 and were a .500 team after 66 games. But the '71 Wings bounced back to finish 86-54 and outlasted the Denver Bears in a seven-game Junior World Series, with all seven games played at Silver Stadium. The team was led by rookie Triple-A manager Joe Altobelli and included Bobby Grich, Don Baylor, Johnny Oates, 15-game winner Roric Harris and scrappy second baseman Don Fazio.

1947-52 Aquinas Football
The Little Irish were one of the area’s most popular teams, sometimes drawing more than 20,000 fans to Red Wing Stadium and what was then Aquinas Stadium while regularly playing the nation’s top high school teams. In 1948, Aquinas finished 7-0-1 with a schedule that included teams from Texas, New Jersey, Michigan, Illinois, Minnesota and Connecticut. The most famous alumnus was Don Holleder, a receiver-defensive back who was recruited by 84 Division I colleges prior to his graduation in 1952. He went on to the U.S. Military Academy, where he earned All-America honors. Holleder was killed in Vietnam in 1967 while trying to rescue wounded members of his battalion. |

1964-68 Rochester Americans
This legendary team won three Calder Cup titles in four seasons under Joe Crozier and featured stars such as Gerry Cheevers, Bronco Horvath, Dick Gamble, Gerry Ehman, Al Albour and Don Cherry.
