CINEMARK TINSELTOWN USA AND IMAX THEATRE PRESENT TAKE ME OUT TO THE MOVIES

2007 Reviews

The film: "Fracture," directed by Gregroy Hoblit (also directed: "Primal Fear ")..New Line Cinema....USA 2007...113 mins...rated R.

Tagline: "If you look close enough, you'll find everyone has a weak spot."

Starring: Anthony Hopkins as Ted Crawford...Ryan Gosling as Willy Beachum

Red Wings reviewers: Matthew LeCroy, Mike Venafro

Red Wings also attending: Lew Ford, Ken Harvey

Group Shot....hey, there's Rachel!The Review:

The thing I liked most about this movie was....
Matthew: The element of mystery.
Mike: The two main characters in the movie. Somehow Anthony Hopkins, even though he plays such a good bad guy, you still remain really interested in his character and he did again in this film.

The thing I liked least about this movie was....
Matthew: I couldn't figure some of the plot lines out....that and Lew (Ford) kept dozing off during all the good parts.
Mike: Another movie about lawyers. They're usually doing alright, I don't need to hear about their problems.

This movie reminded me of ....
Matthew: Nothing comes to me right now.
Mike: Not too many I can think of. They put a good twist on that whole double jepoary thing.

Favorite scene...
Matthew: The second trial scene at the end
Mike: Obviously the climax of the movie, when Gosling had to make the decision whether to use the planted evidence or not.

Favorite character...
Matthew: Anthony Hopkins, as Ted.
Mike: Ted.

Name a teammate who could have played a role in this movie....
Matthew: Mike Venafro as the detective Willy.
Mike: Kevin Slowey could have easily played the young lawyer, Gosling's character Willy.

If I were the director I would have....
Matthew: Changed the ending...maybe the wife would come back to life and do something, like turn into a transformer. .
Mike: I would have added a couple of baseball scenes, that would have been nice - maybe a baseball scene on a TV in the background.

Red Wings Rating: Single, double, triple, or home run?
Matthew: Triple.
Mike: Triple

Ocean's 13 poster

The film: "Ocean's Thirteen," directed by Steven Soderbergh (also directed: "Ocean's 11" and "Ocean's 12")..Warner Bros. Pictures....USA 2007...122 mins...rated PG-13.

Tagline: "What are the odds of getting even? 13 to one."

Starring: George Clooney as Danny Ocean...Brad Pitt as Rusty Ryan...Al Pacino as Willie Bank...Bernie Mac as Frank Catton....Matt Damon as Linus Caldwell / Lenny Pepperidge

Red Wings reviewer: Brian Duensing

The Review:

The thing I liked most about this movie was....
Brian: The way the plot had lots of unsuspecting twists and turns. They did a great job of having the characters or plot change when you weren't expecting it to.

The thing I liked least about this movie was....
Brian: It was a little long, but other than that no complaints.

This movie reminded me of ....
Brian: National Treasure.

Favorite scene...
Brian: I'd have to say the first time I saw Matt Damon with that fake nose on.

Favorite character...
Brian: Danny Ocean.

Name a teammate who could have played a role in this movie....
Brian: I'd say Tommy Watkins could have played the Bernie Mac character.

If I were the director I would have....
Brian: Maybe shorten it a little but other than that, I wouldn't have changed a thing.

Red Wings Rating: Single, double, triple, or home run?
Brian: Triple.
