PAUL FLORENCE - Inducted in 2005 Catcher Paul Florence was the greatest catcher during the St. Louis Cardinals era. Florence played parts of seven seasons for the Red Wings (1929-1935). His 648 games played ranks seventh in team history. Paul batted .298 with seven home runs and 54 RBI for Billy Southworths Wonder Boys in 1930, helping the Red Wings win the Junior World Series Championship. Florence also batted .272 with 10 home runs and 67 RBI in 1931 as the Red Wings captured their second consecutive Junior World Series title. His only Major League experience came in 1926 when he played 76 games for the New York Giants. Coming soon. |
