2007: Started the season with Triple-A Columbus hitting .315-2-41 in 73 games…traded to Twins and assigned to Rochester on 6/24 in exchange for RHP Levale Speigner…had contract purchased by the Twins 7/20…optioned to Rochester 7/25...His 33 stolen bases tied for second in IL and were his most steals since 1998…his 73 total RBIs tied for his career high...Overall with Minnesota: .100 ( 1 for 10) in four games…his first MLB experience other than 17 games with Baltimore in 2004...3-for-5, 2B, HR, 5 RBI 6/28 at Durham.

2006: Was named the CF on the Triple-A International League’s post-season All-Star squad after batting .292 with 33 doubles, 14 homers and 30 steals in 136 games with Durham...30 stolen bags were most since swiping 37 in pro debut in 1998...led IL batters with 157 hits, and ranked 5th in steals and 4th in both doubles and runs (80)...also ranked among TBR minor leaguers in hits (4th) and stolen bases (5th)...hit safely in Durham-record 27 straight games, June 23-July 24 (.390, 41-for-105)...the streak was the 2nd-longest in organization history, behind only Aubrey Huff’s 28- game tear with Orlando of the Double-A Southern League in 1999...also endured a 9-game 0-for-35 drought, August 1-10...hit a walk-off solo homer August 23 vs. Norfolk in Durham’s 7-6 victory...played for Navegantes del Magallanes of the Venezuelan Winter League following the season, hitting .292 with 6 doubles and 3 steals in 23 games.

2005: Signed with Cleveland as minor league free agent, January 26...began season at Triple-A Buffalo...released June 4...signed minor league contract with Tampa Bay and was assigned to Durham, June 10...hit six home runs in first 15 games with the Bulls...had back-to-back two-homer games, June 28-29 vs. Syracuse, including game-winning walk-off two-run homer June 28...had third two-homer game of season, July 16 vs. Rochester.


2004:
Began season with Triple-A Ottawa...recalled, made Major League debut with Baltimore and singled off Cliff Lee for first career hit, April 30 at Cleveland...optioned May 9...recalled July 24...optioned July 26...recalled August 18...optioned August 26...recalled September 7...led Ottawa with 32 doubles.


2003: Was limited to just 40 games with Triple-A Ottawa prior to undergoing June 12 labral repair surgery on his right shoulder...batted .296 with 20 RBI, playing 23 games in centerfield, 17 games in right field and three as the DH.


2002: Began season at Double-A Bowie...promoted to Rochester, May 17...earned the Brooks Robinson Award as Baltimore’s Minor League Player of the Year after batting a combined .290 with 10 homers, 50 RBI and 20 steals in 128 games with Triple-A Rochester and Double-A Bowie...began the season with Bowie, and was promoted to Rochester on May 17...despite playing in only 91 games with Rochester, finished 2nd on the squad with six triples and third with 11 steals.


2001:
Played most of the season with Triple-A Rochester after beginning the year with Double-A Bowie...made the jump to Rochester after hitting .277 (26-for-94) in 25 games...appeared in eight games with Rochester, and was optioned back to Bowie May 11...went 7-for-23 (.304) with nine RBI in five games...returned to Rochester for the remainder of the year on May 17.


2000: In his first Double-A campaign, batted .242 with 43 RBI in 116 games with Bowie...hit .286 in his first 43 games through May 23, and just .209 over his final 73 games...had a team-high 13-game hitting streak April 14-27, batting .333 (21-for-63).


1999:
Hit .266 with 23 doubles, 73 RBI, and 26 steals in 130 games with Frederick of the Single-A Carolina League...led the club with 61 walks, five triples and 81 runs, good for the fifth most in the league...had 41 multi-hit games...hit just .185 in his first 40 games through May 27...had a 13-game hitting streak May 28-June 8, which started a stretch of hitting .299 in 90 games the rest of the season...reached base via hit or walk in 33 straight games May 28-July 3.


1998:
In his first pro season, batted .261 with 24 doubles, 44 RBI and 35 stolen bases with Single-A Delmarva (South Atlantic League)...was promoted to Single-A Frederick after Delmarva’s season came to an end...doubled twice and homered in four games with Frederick...was named Baltimore’s fourth-best prospect by Baseball America, received Honorable Mention accolades on Howe SportsData’s All-Teen Team...led Delmarva with 87 runs scored and was second on the club with his 35 steals.

Darnell Tyrone McDonald...makes his off-season home in Phoenix, AZ with wife Cynara and daughter Jiana Kai (5/13/05)...participated in BAL’s Fall Instructional League program in 1997...was selected by BAL despite his intention to attend the University of Texas ona football and baseball scholarship...graduated from Cherry Creek (CO) High in Englewood in 1997...helped Cherry Creek to 3 state titles in both football and baseball.
