PLAYING CAREER:
* Played for eight years as an outfielder in the Mets system, hitting .258 with 28 home runs in 679 Minor League games ...NY-P League All-Star in rookie season 1973, batting .303 with 9 HR-51 RBI-25 SB in 66 games
* Spent most of three seasons (1976-1978) playing in the International League for Tidewater, hitting .284 for the Tides in 1977.

COACHING CAREER:
Begins fourth year in Twins' system after spending the previous 31 seasons as a member of the New York Mets organization, 13 as an instructor...Red Wings interim manager in 2005, leading club to a tie for second place...was Assistant Field Coordinator/Outfield and Baserunning coach most recently with the Mets...coached at Tidewater (AAA) from 1988-90...managed at Little Falls (NY-P League, short season A) in 1986 and 1987...was named South Atlantic Manager of the Year with Columbia in 1984...served as a scout for the Mets in 1983...drafted in the sixth round of the June 1973 draft by the Mets out of West Chester State University (PA)...NY-P All-Star in rookie season at Batavia.
